Your most recent gaming-related purchases

Post by Apollo the Just » Tue Apr 10, 2018 11:55 am

Confess your sins here, nerds.

I just dropped a fat portion of a paycheck on a capture card for streaming and a "new" (as in still old, but less used and broken) gamecube controller. Had to shell out for an official Ninty one from back in the day because the ToS speedrunning community bans 3rd-party controllers.

No regrets though.

(...I also recently found a $30 used XBox360 and purchased it for the SOLE purpose of replaying Tales of Vesperia to see if I still don't like it. ...My tastes have changed a lot, okay. Maybe I will now.)

...believe the last actual purchase I made was 'Rocket Knight Adventures' on XBLA.

I was able to cash in some gas station rewards points for a Nintendo gift card, so I just bought Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and Blossom Tales. Looking forward to sinking into them both.

recently bought a rivals of aether dlc character pack. haven't played it much though since there are apparently some desync issues brought on by the patch so going online often ends badly. they almost definitely patched it by now but i'm too invested in botw to check

Bought a better USB controller at the beginning of the month. Also bought a Jackbox pack in the middle of a game night, because the first two or three aren't conducive to streaming.

I'd really like to get a capture card but that may need to be a donation-fueled purchase

Does a 99¢ microtransaction count? Then Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle.

My most recent gaming purchase was Metroid: Samus Returns over half a year ago. Not a whole lot has interested me lately.

Has it really been that long? Feels like it's a new release...crazy.

Oh man I spend money like crazy lately on video games because of this awesome retro game store near my area called Kill Screen Games. I like to buy the original black label versions of games. I've been hunting Onimusha series and Sly Cooper.

I went on a mad games-downloading spree earlier today. Snagged 'Owlboy', and 'Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice', and 'Firewatch'. Also grabbed some of them ACA ports, right----------SNK is one of my favourite game companies, always has been. Good old SNK.

Rime for the Switch, on a half-price sale.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

My wife put in an order for Odyssey. I've been considering getting the new God of War once it's out, too.

The Japanese games market is bizarre in that new releases are priced rather arbitrarily, and often for 10-30% more than in the US, but used games for legacy systems can be stupidly cheap. I got all the used stuff here for less than what a NA copy of HeartGold in this condition would cost on its own.

-Pokemon HeartGold with the original case, pack-ins, and even the PokeWalker
-Pokemon Pearl and White with the cases/pack-ins
-Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Nanatsu no Shima no Daibouken with all the originals and even the drum sticks
-Loose GBC carts for Pokemon Yellow, Green, Trading Card Game, and Super Mario Land
-Loose DS/3DS carts for New Super Mario Bros and Yo-Kai Watch 2

Which would've been enough to have me over the moon, but I also got a new Super Famicom Mini - which you can just walk into stores and buy - for less than the original US MSRP and new Taiko PS4 with the drum controller for half what it'd cost here.

Didn't intend to come back with almost entirely games I could've bought in English, but couldn't pass any of that up.

I bought Undertale on PS4 late last night. It was on sale (~$10), and I had been waiting until it was to buy it. It's going super far onto the backlog though.

I bought Nier Automata last night. Figured I'd save it for a rainy day.

@smol Kat How are those? I've been thinking of just doing that and playing through some old pokemon games on my computer.
