Also, Oregon is home to the single largest organism in the world: a 2400-year-old specimen of the fungus Armillaria ostoyae that spans 2200 acres.

While Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday, it's more popularly celebrated in the United States.

^It's also not Mexican Independence Day, which is September 16.
Don't wear the sombrero, dance around it instead!
Feel free to drink tequila, but it's meant to be sipped, not done as a shot.

Not really today but over the course of this weekend I experienced first-hand that there are two Kansas Cities right next to each other in Kansas and Missouri. Blew my mind.

I've learnt that cell phones are starting to reach the same status as cars or purses in that really heavily overpriced phones are beginning to exist sheerly because they're a fashion statement to own.

Yeah Apple's always been kinda like that but I'm talking high fashion, like the same kind of fashionable when you buy a $1000 purse. Since it's difficult to make a bad phone this day and age, companies are starting to shift their focus from functionality to fashion. I was surprised a bit that they've already gotten to that point.

There's an urban legend that Isaac Newton invented the cat flap. It comes from an anonymous story about Newton having two holes in his door that are the correct dimensions for a cat and a kitten, but a couple biographers say that he never owned cats or dogs. However, a member of Newton's alma mater, J.M. F. Wright, wrote about Newton making those holes too in a memoir, though he didn't explicitly state where he heard the story.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's heard before that Albert Einstein failed math or was bad at math. It must be something people say to make people that do poorly in math feel better because he mastered both integral and differential calculus by the time he was 15.

Just learned about Vacants 2 Value, which could be a good solution if we ever decide to buy a house in Baltimore.

I learned that eating exactly three McDonalds cheeseburgers is enough to make me hate myself. Oh, and I learned that if you're trying to sell your house and there's been any sort of documentation that your house is haunted or has been haunted and you don't disclose it, it's considered illegal. Any money put down has to be refunded and the buyer can back out of the deal

In a couple of Aussie states, it's illegal to harm a homing pigeon. (As it should be.)

Moscow's Red Square is so named due to the Russian word красная meaning both "red" and "beautiful". The name has nothing to do with communism.
