hey speaking of DK i have conflicting feelings about his place in the Mario universe lately. on one hand its cool that they're limiting the use of DKC characters in Mario spinoffs because it makes it feel like the DKC series has its own identity again. but on the other hand they're not making like, a bunch of DK games at a time so ultimately, most of these characters are only rarely appearing in anything

They'll probably start adding DKC characters to stuff when they release a new DKC game for the sake of cross promotion. I'm pretty sure that's the reason Inklings are in MK8Dx, anyway.

Isn't the appeal of Mario spin-offs the multiplayer? A surprising amount of people seem interested in the single player content.

@DZ: Nintendo probably won't get normal 3rd party support until they make a traditional console rivaling the competition again. They'll still get old ports and a fair bit of unique stuff but it's usually safe not to expect the likes of GTA VI or Final Fantasy XVI to appear on the system.

the mario sports games on the GBC/GBA had rpg-like story modes that a lot of people liked. to the point that there's an indie game based on them (golf story)

I see. Well, that's great news, then. It certainly seems like a fun game at any rate.

I would see if it will have online? Switch is their chance to finally make such features the norm for their games, and their upcoming subscription service seems like they might finally do it.

Try taking a hot shower, it might help with the pain.

Is there a tub? Can just take a hot bath instead of a shower. No tub here, unfortunately.

I feel sort of the same way. DK is kind of in this liminal state. I keep forgetting that he's part of the Mario universe because Rare expanded upon DK with the Kong family in DKC and etc. So to me he feels like he's part of an entire different group.

Isn't there a similar issue with most of the Wario-related characters not being used for anything?

Personally, I'm still stoked that they brought Pauline back in a mainline Mario game.

Well, the last one was about five years ago. Half a decade.

I've never actually played any of the Land titles. Do any of them still hold up?

there are a lot of Mario universe characters who need to appear more. where have Tatanga and Fawful even been all this time?
