Going back through posts, I realized something I think I need to correct. HotD, you called my green, mutant, shirtless, humanoid, dragon character "Thom". His name is actually "Thorn", as in those spiky things on roses. Image It's alright though, I mean, I should've seen a mistake like that coming, with the R and N being squished together looking like an M, but I'd just thought I let you know. :p

Again, though, thanks for the praise, and the marshmallows. OM NOM NOM

So, you know that first drawing I posted, of how much I improved in two years? Well... let's try five years.

Image

Yup, it's Sprite, the guy I used to use as my online avatar (which I pretty much only use for this site now). Needless to say, he was desperately in need of an update, as you can see by my avatar to the left (which I drew in middle school, five years ago). I used the exact same colors as I did in the old picture, and tried to come up with a new, more complex design, but staying faithful to the old one.

EDIT: Got around to changing my avatar to this picture.

I'd say you accomplished what you set out to do. XD I think my favorite bit is that energy sword thing, I love how it looks. :0

Now see if you can swap out your current avatar for that.

If I could I would've done so by now. :p See, I actually won this avatar in a comic contest in the spriting/comic forum... about five years ago, so I can't change it anymore. I'll have to scrounge up the money to get a subscription.

EDIT: It has been done. :D

So glad you noticed, Val. Sometimes I'll go all day without anyone mentioning a thing about the new 'do.

Hey, new art.

Image

Been too long since I've drawn a dragon, so that's what I did. It's a character from an old story I wrote called Dragonhood. He's a young gold dragon named Altilius. My dragons are usually very smooth and anthropomorphic (as in human-like, not necessarily human-shaped). Just my style I guess.

The lines aren't as smooth as the rest of my pictures (not even sure if it's noticeable or not), probably because I kinda rushed the lineart stage. Other than that I like how the anatomy and pose came out.

It's not called the "Graphic Arts & Graphic Arts" forum.

You should post that story here sometime.

Honestly, it's not something I'm all that proud of. It was just a short story I wrote for my creative writing class. I only gave it a few days of thought, compared to the months/years I've given to my other stories/comics. I've learned a lot since then, and it's no where near as good as something I could write today. Altilius is actually a character I'd had for a while before I wrote it, and just threw him in the story and altered his personality a bit so he'd fit the part.

But if you do want to read it, then sure, go ahead. It's in my scraps on DeviantArt: Dragonhood Ch. 1 by ~Spritedude on deviantART
