I much prefer it having basic text editing. Taking over browser shortcuts is not good stuff.

What I'd really like is something akin to the old automatic subscription functionality. You could post in a thread, it'd autosubscribe you (but not via email), and you could click a link at the top of the page to get a list of all unviewed subscribed threads with replies.
In addition. I miss the new posts link that showed all the recently posted threads, not just the last 10.

Oh and just to make the point, an automatic doublepost merger would be great. :p

(As well as an extension to strip out all the inner quotes in a post quoting a post quoting a post quoting a post ... )

I'm not aware of an easy way to save them.

That's what you meant? I'm not sure it's possible to use ctrl to italicize/bold.

I like the old autosubscribe as well, but it's just an extra click.

Already addressed the recent topics question.

Moved to the new server. I ended up going with one level up, as the donations should easily justify that. Might go up another level but for now just seeing how things go.

Using a subdomain so that it can be tested while the old forums stay up in case anyone needs them for whatever reason, probably about a week left.

The root of the main page is potentially what could be used as a portal page. Still deciding. Offers some flexibility, but it may make more sense to just put the forums on the index

I'm going to start building a theme. I still have assets from the mock-ups I did and the style interface is more straightforward and accessible, so I will see what I can do.

I'm unable to log in on the new site using regular Chrome - Shane reset my password since the forms weren't working, but even after that I just pass through the login without actually being authenticated. It *does* work in Incognito Chrome, so it might be a cookie issue. IE11 Tab seems to fix it for regular Chrome, which is probably my solution for now. I am using a JS blocker and HTTPS Everywhere, but turning those off doesn't fix the issue.

Edge and Firefox seem fine.

I think there is a cookie setting issue when it moved because of the subdomain, but I had to change it so that I could login at all because I couldn't. Now it keeps logging me out. Not going to worry about it for now and will see if it keeps up when returning to vgf.com. In the meantime, will post your suggestion of a different browser in the announcements.

Don't know whether it helps, but I issued fresh cookies.

Your link on the old forum is misspelled.

Any chance of HTTPS with this server move?

Chance? Yes. Always was one. Priority? Not at this time.

The ability to autosubscribe to a topic is available but is a user controlled setting disabled by default.

Is that the "Notify me upon replies by default" setting?

I think I'm going to keep the old forums up but just prune all the posts, keeping the PM system up and running for the sake of addressing any lost password issues. Not initially planning to prune conversations. I don't expect mostly empty forums to use much resources.
