Iraqi Kurds recently voted overwhelmingly to secede from Iraq. The central government responded by sending troops in to reestablish federal control of the province.

This is a bad situation, and I'm sure ISIS will be happy to take advantage of it.

Yeah, the Kurds just lost Kirkuk to Iraq. Word is that Iran was supporting the Iraqi forces. The Kurds want the US to step in and put a stop to this.

And just like that, there's their last big city in Iraq. There's not much urban fighting left against ISIS in Syria or Iraq. Could be the rest of the territory goes quickly. Next thing to watch will be how everyone fighting ISIS gets along afterwards.
