R.I.P. Avicii

#1

Post by Calamity Panfan » Fri Apr 20, 2018 4:20 pm

Massively popular Swedish DJ Tim Bergling aka Avicii passed away this afternoon. He was 28. Cause of death is unknown, but he had health issues over the past few years, including a bout with pancreatitis, as well as having his appendix and gallbladder being removed. He retired from live performance in 2016.

Avicii was one of the most popular EDM acts of the past few years, and consistently appeared on lists of the highest-paid DJs in music. He had multiple huge EDM hits, including "Levels," "Wake Me Up," "The Nights," "Waiting for Love," "Hey Brother," and "Sky Full of Stars" with Coldplay.

28 is far too young to go, damn. I can't say I was a huge fan of his music, but he brought so much joy to millions of people. There's nothing like a dancefloor when "Levels" starts up.

Rest in peace.

omg, what!? I didn't listen to him much either, but "Hey Brother" was more or less a theme song for one of our friends. D:
Do you know how much you mean to me
Why must you leave~?

I didn't follow him as an artist particularly closely, but I dare anyone to hear the opening hook to "Levels" and not go "Oh yeah, this song!"

RIP

RIP Tim, loved Hey Brother so much.
She lives in the clouds and talks to the birds...

Happiest faerie of VGF.

Levels will always remain in my heart as a fond memory of college. He was the part of the soundtrack to the best years of my life. Rest in peace, man.
