Ideas for Disney movies.

What fairy tales/short stories would make for good Disney movies?

I'm surprised Disney hasn't done a movie based on Jack and the Beanstalk, considering it's one of the more well-known fairy tales. I know they were gonna do it with Gigantic, but that got canceled.

^Does 'Mickey and the Beanstalk' count? I mean, it's a short, but I think they pretty much nailed it.

Well, I wouldn't call it a "Short".

It's not a full movie though - because it was released as part of a "Package film".

...if a motion picture isn't long enough to be considered feature-length, is it not a short by definition?

I don’t know, they seem too busy making soulless live action remakes of everything to make new things. Besides everyone hates 2D now so it’s just Pixar. Can’t wait for Toy Story 8,000 guys

...tell you what I miss, is them 2D/live-action crossovers. I know 'Mary Poppins' and 'Breadknobs and Boomsticks' made their money back. 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' is awesome. Even 'Space Jam' has its stupid charm, and that wan't even Disney. Why did we give up on that? (Don't bother bringing up 'Cool World'. That wasn't Disney, and it isn't as horrible as people make it out.)

...oh no, are people thinking of 'Phantom Menace' and sh*t as the spiritual successor to 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'? What with the garbagey CGI aliens interacting with real people? Oh no. Oh, my heart bleeds.

I can see Disney owning every goddamn superhero in the far future and they retell every origin story via the usual Frozen garbage.

Superman - "Super"

Batman - "Wings"

The Flash - "Blur"

Thor - "Thunder"

Spider-man - "Web"

X-Men - "Mutants"

I'm waiting for them to redo the Robin Hood movie. Are they going to go with CGI furries? What about Great Mouse Detective? I would actually really want to see the Great Mouse Detective's final battle on Big Ben in CGI.

...Disney's not going to do live-action 'Robin Hood' or 'Great Mouse Detective' flicks. Because there's no point-----they're dead properties. Also they had damn well better not. I'd rather set myself on fire than listen to Florida Georgia Borgia's cover of "Not in Nottingham". That's who Disney would get--------they're the biggest quote-unquote country act around. Imagine "Ooh-De-Lally" with some garbagey Timbaland beat underneath it, and then try not to barf yourself hollow.

I actually enjoyed the recent live-action 'Jungle Book' flick, and I haven't watched a single moment of it since I walked out of the theatre. Whereas I've watched the real movie at least a dozen times in the interim ("Wanna Be Like You" is never out of my YouTube queue). The live-action remakes are superfluous. Why mess with perfection? I mean, this is serious 'Star Wars: Special Edition'-style breaking of your own biz, only costing loads more and almost certainly making a lot less profit.

The only way I'll accept a Great Mouse Detective remake is if we discover that ghosts are real, and Disney gets Vincent Price to voice Ratigan from beyond the grave.
