Hey, greater forum! This past weekend, a few of us got together in Chicago just to hang out and play a bunch of games, video and otherwise. It was a blast and you should join us next time. (If you missed the invite and the second invite, I apologize.)

Here are some pictures from the weekend, mostly from our day out on Saturday.

Left-to-right, back row: Tazy, Ian's head, Dylan, March, MeowMan, ML
Front: Squeege, Kat, Panfan, S1x, UN, Val, CaptHayFever

we're virginian goat farmers not virginian goats get it right smh

in all seriousness, I think this is the first meetup where I wasn't feeling crappy the whole time. Had some complications in getting there, but it was so worth it to see everybody (and meet some new faces!) I'm still tired and I've kinda just been loafing on the internet all day, haha. I'd really love to do this again soon! <3

I was dumb & forgot to get out my camera, but much fun was had indeed:
--The night of mucho Smashing
--Several hours of Jackbox
--Dueling Mario Parties
--Beerio Kart 64
--Me blowing a few people's minds with card tricks
--S1x blowing all our minds with Tetris 99
--S1x blowing all our minds with his homebrew Mafia variant
--3 other tabletop Mafia variants
--Emporium Wicker Park arcade bar
--Printers Row Lit Fest
--Millennium Park Blues Fest
--Late night chatting

Much food, too; I would recommend any/all of these places again:
--Billy Goat Tavern
--Super Taco Bros.
--Giordano's Pizza
--Portillo's Hot Dogs
--Delia's Kitchen
--Pasta a la Hayfever w/StL toasted ravioli

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I already said this in the private forum, but I had a lot of fun and it was great to meet everyone in person for the first time. It was a lot of firsts for me: first time in Chicago, first time in a train headed to an actual destination (I had only been on one that went in a circle before), first time on a subway train at all, first time walking as much in one day as we did on Saturday...

And speaking of Saturday, I was playing Pokemon Go pretty much all day, and by sheer coincidence, it turned out to be Go's Community Day, and Slakoth had an increased spawn rate. On the way home, I realized I had caught exactly 11 Slakoth, the same amount of people who stayed in the AirBnB.

(btw the name list for the group picture is kind of confusing, considering we're standing in three lines there)

e: i did not expect that picture to be that large

I feel bad for Squeege who, after being exposed as Mafia by IAN during S1x's game, had to stare off into space for a while so he could figure out how to make his role sound plausible while also getting us to say the names of at least five or so fruits.

Didn't work.

Also, I'm the Sage. :)

Poor Squeege. I wanted to give him botd that game because after he pushed me d1 and I defended myself properly, he backed down; I figured if he was scum he'd keep pushing bc he's done that to me before! I also think it was pretty funny that I was essentially his town counterpart.

I also feel bad that, while playing Monster Seeking Monster, he tried to match but the game wouldn't let him. He has a hard enough time with the fibbage and quiplash kinda games but like, he'll sometimes play that one? Although, the lag did essentially net me the win!

i'm still the champ of the chugging part so i'll accept that consolation

Anyway, it was swell to hang out with you all for a few days and especially to meet those of you I haven't met before. I had a blast. Might be the highlight of my summer. Let's do this again soon. <3

I didn't come to this one.

The last four times I came to a VGF meetup, you all murdered me with your ritual daggers, then cooked and ate my corpse.

Fool me five times, shame on me.

^Presumably they didn't have the greatest time, inasmuch as I wasn't there to be slain and devoured yet again.

You and I are the last sane ones, Hots. The rest of VGF is sick, sick. Why do they eat people? It's wrong. Eating people is a bad thing to do! You know it, I know it. And yet ML and Pan and Tazy and Val and Ian and The Great Adversary Yunn delight in cannibalism! What is wrong with them? Why are they so gross? It boggles the mind.
