They're probably waiting to sell N64/NGC (maybe even Wii) minis before doing VC. It will come but not until at least after N64 mini.

i dunno if the n64 mini's gonna happen. i think nintendo wants to do everything they can to make people forget those controllers.

i dunno if i'd call them iconic even in a bad way
it's not even the most iconic controller of its generation

PS1's original controller is all but forgotten with only old nerds like me remembering them. I don't even remember what Saturn's was like but to be fair, I did not own one. N64 wins IMO.

I feel like the Dualshock 1 would win “most iconic” in that generation, but only because it’s the basis for every PlayStation controller since then.
That said, N64’s controller could never be mistaken for anything other than what it is. Certainly the most unique.

The N64 probably wins the award for worst thought out controller. Just look at all the games that use the D-Pad and L button.

Re: WoT 364: it's like 3 N64s taped together
i think nintendo overestimated how many games would actually use a d-pad as a regular option, since they clearly made it so you could hold it like an snes controller.
also the analog stick itself is really flimsy and the plastic ridges only made mario party syndrome worse. i feel like if they do go for an n64 classic that they'll use a more modern stick that maybe has a passing resemblance to the original (something like a gamecube stick maybe).
anyway they'll probably do like a game boy classic or something instead. i think thats a system they're more proud of.

the original dualshock still came out that generation even if it wasn't the original playstation controller. i'd say the dualshock design is way more iconic than the n64 octopus controllerI REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 3:46 amPS1's original controller is all but forgotten with only old nerds like me remembering them. Re: WoT 364: it's like 3 N64s taped together
If we're counting DS1 then maybe, but even then it doesn't really stand out on its own. PS2 sold better and had DS2 from the start, and it didn't change much so I think the design is probably most associated with that system anyway, if not as a brand design rather than anything else. The controllers aren't really unique to one system in that sense with even the DS4 bearing heavy resemblance to its predecessors (though it is the most differently designed of the bunch).Calamity Panfan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:18 pmthe original dualshock still came out that generation even if it wasn't the original playstation controller. i'd say the dualshock design is way more iconic than the n64 octopus controllerI REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 3:46 amPS1's original controller is all but forgotten with only old nerds like me remembering them. Half of my N64 controllers have sticks that seem depressed; they're always drooping and leaning to the side.
Also, have you guys ever noticed that third-party N64 controllers always covered up their middle prong in the packaging so you couldn't see it?

I want to call bulls**t but I never bought a 3rd party controller so I don't actually know.
