Hi IRHP, welcome back. I didn't use AIM enough for the nostalgia factor, but when MSN messenger went down I was right distraught.
Do you know how much you mean to me

Nah, I just let it die, but it's cool that you caught up with Wyborn. How's he been?
He seems alright but we didn't talk much, just about AIM for a minute.

I went to the doctor and got some very strong medicine today. If my posts stop being comprehensible, it probably means I'm really high on whatever it is I just drank.

^^I hope it's not as bad/weird as me on ambien, dude. Hope you feel better.

Just binge-watched all of Mirai Nikki in one sitting because it was so good. Anyone else a fan? I think playing a certain visual novel has awoken me to the fact that I really, really like yanderes.

^So far, the only major effect it's had is giving me the inability to tell whether or not I'm tired.

Also, Mirai Nikki is my favorite anime. I am constantly considering rewatching it, but I have a ton of other anime I've been wanting to watch, so I have to keep telling myself to get through my backlog first.

Glad to hear someone else loves it MeowMan! It might just be my new favorite too. I loved everything about it, especially the romance and Yuno's entire character. The plot was great and there were twists from start to finish. It definitely made me feel lots of emotions, including lots of crying towards the end. Sooo good.

I have no backlog (besides PMMM) since I only just got back into anime/manga, so I'm actually looking to increase my to-watch list. You have any recs of other stuff you like? Especially looking for anything with romance with a complex, well-developed yandere like Yuno, but I'd try out anything that's not too long, I've watched so little anime that I don't know what I like yet.

^Sadly, I can't recall any other serious anime with a yandere off the top of my head, and I feel awkward trying to recommend anything because my own tastes are all over the place. For serious stuff, I like Re: Zero, which has a mixed-emotion-inducing romance subplot, but the story doesn't have an ending yet and I don't know if there's any plan to adapt more of the LNs. The Fate/ franchise is also pretty good, barring the 2006 anime. For not-so-serious stuff, there's a comedy series called Renai Boukun (about a guy who an angel forces a harem upon) that has a yandere character. Konosuba is also a good comedy (no yanderes, though). If you're interested in slice-of-life stuff, Gabriel Dropout is good and I'm currently watching K-ON! and liking it so far. Love Live is the only musical anime I've seen so far, but it's pretty good. Nothing I've mentioned is especially obscure and most of them are fairly recent.

By PMMM, I guess you're talking about Puella Magi Madoka Magica? That's in my backlog, too. I'll probably start it after I finish K-ON!.

Geez, this post ran on a lot.

Yeah, I meant Madoka Magica. I read through the first 2 volumes of the manga last time I was at the bookstore, was really good. I think I'd really like magical girl stuff in general, I loved Sailor Moon so much at ~age 5 and just picked up the manga (it has huge nostalgic value for me.) And I love Star vs. The Forces of Evil though that's western animation. My other faves are probably Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Dennou Coil, Now and Then Here and There (a really dark OVA about war), and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. So my tastes are also all over the place.

Thanks for your recs though, I'll check those out! (And don't worry, that's really not a long post!)

I've actually not watched any of what you mentioned except for Sailor Moon. Also, I know it's not a long post, but my posts are usually 1-3 sentences long, so I'm just not used to typing that much out.

I have never even attempted to watch an American movie adapted from Japanese works because they are 100% guaranteed to be terrible. The Death Note anime is great, though, and is definitely something I'd suggest to anyone who's not seen it.
