General NBA Discussion Thread

Post by March » Tue Sep 24, 2013 9:04 pm

The 2013-14 season will be getting underway soon. Who do you have winning it all? How do you feel about your team this year? Counting down the days until Decision pt. 2? (I know I'm not)

I think the Pistons have a chance to be solid this year. Jennings and Josh Smith will be either boom or bust for us. We're probably too talented to miss the playoffs, but we're only going to get in as a 6-7 seed. It'll be interesting to see how Drummond does in his second year in the league, and if Pope contributes early on.

Also, please no three-peat. I can't stand the Heat.

Anyway, discuss away.

Kobe is back. Pacers are legit. The East blows.

So, it's shaping up to be an interesting season.

I've been awful at following the NBA lately - NCAA is where it's at for me.

(It doesn't help when you live and work on a college campus. Don't really have time for nothin' else.)

Pistons are following in the Lions' footsteps. Blowing 4th quarter leads with ease.

I've been watching some. Rockets won tonight, happily. I hope they can battle back. Crazy close games, starting late and going to overtime. It's not good for my sleep schedule.

Aaaaaandd the finals WILL in fact be Spurs/Heat again. Once again my two least favorite teams in the NBA are playing each other. It's like if the Packers and Patriots played each other in the Super Bowl two years in a row.

because this finals is terrible, here's Panfan's Official LeBron James NBA Finals 2014 Drinking Game (strongly advised you don't actually play this because you'll probably end up in the hospital)

Take a drink if:
LeBron flops
LeBron whines to the ref
The announcers fawn over LeBron (i.e. anything he does is described as "beautiful")
Somebody else on the Heat makes a good play but they focus on what LeBron did that possession instead
LeBron's game one cramp incident is referenced

Take two drinks if:
LeBron whines to the ref when it was a really obvious foul
LeBron and somebody on the Spurs flop simultaneously
LeBron is compared to Michael Jordan
An announcer implies that LeBron might go back to Cleveland

Finish your drink if:
LeBron's cramps come back
LeBron has 10 or less points at half
LeBron has 15 or less points at the end of the game
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

Dear Lord the Heat put up the absolute worst performance by a two-time defending champion team ever. They just got absolutely dominated.

Pistons have won 7 straight since cutting Josh Smith.
How **** do you think Josh Smith feels right now?
Oh yeah, no one cares.

I think he's fine getting paid all the same plus being on the Rockets.
