Cooking Recipes

Post by Bad Dragonite » Mon Jan 23, 2017 4:29 am

I cant decide if this fits in Life because it's for cooking or Art because recipes imply culinary art.

Soo I've been looking for a fantastic recipe for guacamole. Do any of you guys have any good personal recipes you'd be willing to share?

I don't. I'm not into guacamole. I don't like avocado. Sorry.

There's lots of recipes online. Alternately you could just buy some guacamole spice packets and avocados, or even just get store-bought (my own store sells a brand called 'Wholly Guacamole'------------I haven't tried it. It's guacamole, on top of which it promotes itself on being organic and GMO-free and all-------wow, like if there was anything else to make me hate it like poison just as a matter of principle, right.)

I'm not really a fan of guacamole either. I don't hate it, sometimes I'll even put a bit of it on Mexican food for color, but I certainly don't like it enough to know recipes. Sorry.

I just use salsa, salt, and lime juice all to taste. I know other people have more elaborate kinds, but that's the easiest and tastiest to me.

Lime juice I hear stops it from going brown. Avocado browns in the open air, like apple and banana. So, like, you toss apple and banana with lemon juice when you're making a fruit salad. Pineapple juice. Something citric, man. Stands to reason avocado would be similar.

Is avocado considered a fruit? It has that huge gross kernel at the centre, like it's a peach or apricot or something. Can't think of any real veggies got a nut in them.

(EDIT: I misspell 'avocado' a lot. Avocado is a garbage food, but that's no excuse for sloppy spelling.)

Yep, they're a fruit. Gross ones as far as fruit goes, like tomato is.

You're right about the lime juice keeping it from getting brown for a while. Also it's tasty. And it's a fruit. And it's not garbage. It's delicious.

Not to mention they're really really good for you.

The wholly guacamole is actually sold in the store I work at but all they have is the super hot and spicy kind sadly.

It's easy if you have what you need. Also it's even easier if you just eat bland food, then you can just throw peppered chicken into an oven and walk away, and nuke some veggies.

^ Spicy is better anyway.

Yeah, yeah, people love to wax rhapsodic about how good for you avocado is. Like, the grapefruit and cucumbers I buy because they actually taste good, they're secretly made of asbestos, corrugated cardboard and AIDS, but avocado is fine to eat.

Cucumbers don't taste good though so maybe they are AIDS.

...screw you, I'm eatin em all, dweebenheimer.

I don't know what kind of freak sees anything as wholesome and nutritious and phallic as a cucumber and doesn't just want to jam it in his mouth, but it isn't the kind of person I want to associate with.

If I want phallic foods I eat fudgsicles. I can even take on two at once, believe it or not.

Of course not, I just think you can not truly enjoy more than two at a time; any more is sheer exhibition. I love fudgsicles, don't go around to try and make a show of it.
