This was a dramatic moment in the manga, but I feel like this exact scene happens on a monthly basis in their family. I cannot imagine a worse child to raise than Ruby, but also as dads go Norman is kind of a dick, so.
I DON'T KNOW THESE THINGS WHICH ONE IS A PIKACHU AND WHICH ONE IS A VALIGARMANDER

Is that a cosplay sketch-up in the lower left?
Yes. For Ruby too, so quite topical.

Also pikachu is the one who looks like he just jet-skiied across Hoenn to ground his son, and Valigarmander is the second raindrop from the left.

This isn't a whiteboard work but I was exhausted today so I took a day off "real" productivity and drew a self indulgent portrait of my D&D character whom I love.

They're there, you just can't see them since I drew them to scale. I'm happy to provide a close-up shot of the teeny tiny muscles on you when I get back from work, if that would make you feel better.

I'm just gonna post all my non-cosplay creative stuff here whether or not it has anything to do with whiteboards.

My DM for my D&D group was musing about how after our current campaign is over he would really like to just be a player for once, so my brain immediately interpreted that as "I should make a ToS/DBZ crossover homebrew campaign and DM it." So I drew up some maps and wrote about 5 pages of lore.

Image

Image

They're more or less the maps of the two worlds from ToS, but I moved some cities around and changed some landmarks to fit the narrative progression I'm going for. And I gave each continent a name. Basically in this universe the 8 summon spirits each were patrons of a race and a domain (Sylph and Gnome were Nature deities presiding over halflings and gnomes respectively; Undine and Volt were Tempest deities presiding over humans and half-orcs respectively; Efreet and Celsius were War deities presiding over tieflings and dragonborn respectively; Luna and Shadow were Knowledge deities presiding over all and dwarves respectively) but then the Elves came along on Derris-Kharlan and brought with them their 3 gods Martel (Life), Aska (Light), and Nebilim (Trickery/Death) and 7 "constellations" which are literally dragon balls under a different and more JRPG-y name. The Constellations eventually each came to belong to one of the deities already existing, and Luna - the 8th deity - received the alter they must be collected on to grant a wish.

The ancient war was caused by greed over the constellations and the power their wishes could grant. Mithos the Hero famously ended the war with a final wish, the last known use of the Constellations (he wished to split the warring factions into two separate worlds, but this information is not commonly known as it was literal thousands of years ago. Most people just think the other Constellations are missing, lost to time, or destroyed, not that they're just on a parallel planet.)

I'm thinking the hook of the campaign would be they go to the Temple of Fire to return the constellation after some scholars took it (with permission) for research, and they find the corpses of the priests there and encounter a mysterious stranger who is Totally Not Yuan, who fights them for it. They either kill him and he drops a map revealing the existence of Tethe'alla and the other Constellations, or they talk it out and he sends them on a mission to collect them with some vague BS about restoring the world's true order.

I have put way too much thought into this.

That's pretty neat.

That's also how all of my school notebooks looked from kindergarten through college, because I'd always be drawing maps or dinosaurs or whatever instead of taking notes or working on assignments.

Oh, same. There are a load of made up Professor Layton puzzles (all illustrated with various Lukes) in the notebooks where my high school notes were supposed to be. And lots of dragons.

I have a thing for map drawings, and you've composed a pretty cool fantasy world here! o: I hope it's just as fun to DM.

Thanks homie. I hope I get the chance to DM it, honestly. We still have probably a month to go in our current campaign before swapping things up, so I have that time to pitch the idea to my peeps and see if they'd be down.

Unfortunately it's a bit hard to follow up on Curse of Strahd. This campaign is a doozy. But we shall see, maybe they'll be down for a total change of pace and want to take part in my fanfic homebrew.

TFW TPK. Rest in pieces

(Haven't had a good space to sit and draw this week thanks to construction so it's a bit rushed, but poor Apollo deserves a send-off)
