Dunno where the other one got off to, but it's time for a new one. Brutal Doom v20 is out, and it's amazing.

Also, I just saw this wad for the first time. It's the ending Doom 2 deserves:

I never cared much for Brutal. Complex Doom is fun to play with a lot of people, though.

I've never played Complex so I haven't got an opinion to compare to, I'd enjoy checking it out though. V20 of Brutal has increased the amount of pretty much everything, it is now excessive in the way that Doom is associated with, although as always it's very, very actiony-feeling.

I really do enjoy the vanilla experience in its sort of calm, collected mayhem and terror sort of way. As a kid, I always found it way too tense to play much of, but as an adult I really appreciate it as a phenomenon.

I found myself mesmerised watching this earlier, as I discovered it through PC Gamer

Speedruns never fail to impress, but it helps when you have some knowledge of the game in question to begin with, so you can really appreciate the level of skill these folks need (....for speed). Some of the timing in this is remarkable.

Could you imagine making it most of the way through a run like that but then dying near the end? I doubt I could bring myself to practice near as much as it would take to do something like FD on Nightmare.

Possibly? The coloring in the yellowy shots seemed to just be due to lighting.

Also the Cacodemons have limbs, which... makes sense I think. You need something to grab other things with.

Some have pointed out that it looks like the demons don't always start out the way they are, etc. In that sense, the Caco might have the arms and shriveled leg-like tendrils because they're some form of mutation from a form that would otherwise have arms and legs.

Yeah, Romero's new stage! I haven't played it yet. Apparently it requires a limit-removed port (like Z-Doom variants) and is for the Ultimate Doom wad.
