Yeah, so I hear. I have to get more adventurous, I've been carefully building a system of roads and outposts so I always have somewhere safe to stay the night and I can get back to where I was if I die. It works and it's cool but it takes a long time-- especially the roads, which involve huge amounts of sand and/or dirt.

Yeah, what I did was just build a big tower and put tracks going down from that to build momentum. You have to make it pretty huge if you want to cover any real distance, but it's ultimately faster than walking if you do it right.

The real thing to do is use "boosters," but I never cared enough to learn how to do that. Plus it requires even more iron, and I don't even have enough to build the railroads I wanted to in the first place.

Um... like powered minecarts? Or like multiple carts pushing each other? "Trains" aren't an item per se.

I wish Survival Multiplayer weren't so damn buggy. I've been trying to set up a server to play with a friend but it doesn't work. Has anyone successfully done this? I managed to log in using localhost as the IP, but my friend can't get in.

yeah, you need to have a static LAN ip for your PC in your lan, and then to forward port 25565 iirc.

My friend and I actually own a Minecraft server, but a lot of things broke because of the recent update.

Once we get everything back to normal, I'll post the ip address here if anyone wants to check it out!

Hm, I managed to open the port (after many tribulations) but my friend just times out whenever he tries to connect. Dammit.
