Other Thing of the Month #66: Super Smash Maker

Post by CaptHayfever » Sun Apr 02, 2017 4:56 pm

STAGE BUILDER (Rebuilt)

Featured in: Smash 4 WiiU
Function: Build stages.

Trivia:
--There are now 5 themes instead of 3.
--Platforms can now be drawn with the gamepad, allowing complete freedom in the shape of the ground. Some freedom in coloration is present now also.
--New hazards include barrel cannons & magma.
--Spikes, drop blocks, & conveyor belts have been removed.
--Moving platforms can now be angled instead of just being horizontal or vertical.
--Thanks to a DLC patch, stages can be shared online.
--Because item placement is no longer beholden to a grid, things don't snap in place to line up; this must be done manually.
--The memory limit on stages remains (though, obviously, it's larger than it was before).
--Stages can now be tested with any character except Miis.

I'm pretty stoked to give this a go now that I actually have the game.
(For real, though, I'm running out of Other Things. Please make any suggestions you think might work.)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

You could do an Other Thing about the announcers. Bio the voice actors, list some memorable quotes, debate who screams the game's title the best.

Jeff Manning the best.
