Looks really badass so far. The voice acting really fits well, but I'm also glad Link seems to retain his silent protagonist role.

God I need to pick up the Switch now.

I'll be honest. I don't like voice acting in video games 9 times out of 10, especially dub voice acting. I don't like the voice acting in the new Ace Attorney games and I probably won't like the voice acting here.

But literally everything else about this game looks **** INCREDIBLE OH MY G O D (also to be fair for kids/people who have trouble reading voice acting is important so I guess I should get over it grumble grumble)

I don't think they should bother if Link is not voiced. Silent protagonists can get by in writing but not with voiced material, IMO.

I personally don't want Link to be voiced. That'd feel wrong. And "silent protagonists" are not actually silent--they're meant to be imprints for your personal voice.

^ I 100% agree with you, but I also agree with IRHP. In a game with a silent protagonist (as I personally hope Zelda will always be) I prefer no voice acting at all.

just so we're all clear, I'm not a fan of voice acting either, so I'm with you there. But if there is VO, I'd still rather Link not get it.

Gotcha. We are definitely on the same page then.

.......ok but this game looks incredible. I'm really curious to see how the storytelling unfolds in a game that looks to be very open and exploration-based, since it clearly still has animated cutscenes and such. It honestly looks like my personal ideal blend of gameplay + story (I would be upset if they removed cutscenes personally, I love cutscenes in games), and I'm so ready to see how it plays out.

VO is more or less necessary for me once the graphics hit a certain level of realism. Text-only Witcher or Uncharted would be weird to the point of being uncomfortable, I think. Needs a minimum of Simmish.
