The appeal of Star Fox.
Serious question, why do people like Star Fox? It was never good. There's maybe ONE good game in the whole series. The first 2 games have aged like milk in the desert.

There is a lot of things i like with the games, the easy to pick up hard to master is one of the things i like with the series as a whole.
Sure some of the games have had some strange design choices but the games have been consitently fun to play, Still have to play assault for GC but it looks fun.
Some of it is the interaction of characters and the depth of the history some is the gameplay.
I can go into greater detail about what i like in the series but that would make a wall of text.

Star Fox 64 is a great freakin' game. Lots of stages, fun characters, memorable lines, one of Nintendo's first forays into VO, challenging levels, good controls, climactic boss fights, Macbeth, replay value...
Everything else in the series isn't very good, but the good parts of the other games hearken back to what made Star Fox 64 so special. Nothing has quite recaptured the magic, and given Nintendo's philosophy behind the series, I don't think it ever will.
And Melee has a lot to do with the series' survival too.

Well I guess I'll never bother listening to your opinions again. Have some humility or at least learn not to **** on everyone else's interests.

Your favorite game series sucks and enjoying it makes you a subhuman.
Seriously, though. It's age, the fact that Star Fox still has a good track record in terms of games (with even the worst in the franchise being at least playable), and probably Smash Brothers, let's be honest.
There are worse franchises that are still pretty active, you know.

I guess I could work on stating my opinions without coming across as an *******.
I could try to be less abrasive.

as long as we're talking about things we like about star fox i really like the characters
granted they're not shakespeare characters or anything (except the train guy haha) but there's enough depth beneath their archetype that they're interesting and make me wanna know more about them
star fox 64 would still be a fun game even if nobody ever spoke a word to each other but the banter is what really makes it stand out. it's one of the most quotable video games out there

I never got a hold of many of the later Star Fox games except for Adventures and Star Fox Zero - which was a travesty. The jarring controls made me want to kill somebody - preferably whoever designed the game. As a kid, I enjoyed Adventures because as a kid you're dumb and I loved dinosaurs. In retrospect, it was really stupid.
Really wanted to play Assault and the DS one, but I just never got around to getting them.
I enjoy the SNES ones all the time so yeah.

I still bust out SF64 quotes frequently.
"Hey Einstein, I'm on your side!"
"They're on me! I'm gettin' careless!"
"THEY'RE THROUGH THE SECOND LINE"
"I CAN'T STOP IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT"
"If I go down I'm TAKING YOU WITH ME"
etc
Also, Miyamoto seems to personally like the series so that helps new games get greenlit.
The issue with Miyamoto's vision for Star Fox is that it directly hinders the mentality of "Just make Star Fox 64 but better" cry that the fans raise. He has gone on record as saying that Star Fox as a series should always be a testing ground for new ideas. That's why Star Fox Zero was...the way it was.
It's nice that he can get the games green-lit, but they're so averse to making a plain ol' Star Fox game that I just never see it happening.[DOUBLEPOST=1500908856,1500908822][/DOUBLEPOST]
sounds like you had a fun night
I should clarify that usually these quotes are typically not used all at the same time
